What Vaccines are required for my pet for boarding? | Vaccination Requirements For dogs, the required vaccines are Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. For cats, the required vaccines are Rabies, FVRCP, and Feline Leukemia. Important Details: • Vaccines must be administered at least 10 days prior to boarding. • All vaccine documentation must be submitted to us at least 10 days before boarding to confirm everything is up-to-date. Visit our Requirements Page for more details. Rabies Vaccine Certificate: While we require documentation for all vaccines, a copy of the current Rabies Vaccine Certificate must be kept on file at our facility. Please ensure this document includes: • Name and Address of the hospital/clinic • The veterinarian’s signature and license number • Expiration date • Serial number of the vaccine used Submit all current vaccine documentation through our Vaccine Upload Page to avoid loss or delays: Click here to see a sample certificate. Additional Notes: • Self-administered vaccines will not be accepted. • Vaccine records must be issued by a licensed veterinarian. • Per Pennsylvania law, Rabies vaccines must be administered only by a licensed veterinarian. Pennsylvania law requires that a rabies vaccine be given only by a licensed veterinarian. |
What if I don't know how to read my vets paperwork? | We understand that veterinary vaccine terminology can be confusing. Below are the acceptable variations for each required vaccine. If you need further assistance, please call us at 570-646-6012.
• Distemper: DAPP, DALPP, DAPPC, DHLPP, DHPPC, DA2PPV, DA2PP, DHPP, or DHPPV • Bordetella: Bronchicine, Intra-Trac, Naramune-2, or Bronchi-Shield • Rabies: Defensor® 3, RabVac, or Imrab |
What if I don't want to over vaccinate my pet? | We understand that some pet owners may have concerns about over-vaccinating. For this reason, we accept a titer test as proof of immunity for Distemper and Bordetella only. The test must be current, and the levels must indicate sufficient immunity. Please Note: Due to state law, a Rabies titer is not considered sufficient. We cannot board any pet that is not up-to-date on their Rabies vaccination. |
What if my pet is not used to new people, has some fear aggression/reactivity, anxiety or dog reactivity? | We understand that some dogs may experience fear or anxiety. To help them adjust, trial or evaluation visits to the kennel may be necessary. These visits can range from minimal to extensive and are available Monday through Friday only; they cannot be scheduled on weekends. Trials and evaluations are conducted at the discretion of Camp KCS. Based on the results, we will determine whether the dog is suitable for kenneling. Camp KCS reserves the right to decline kenneling for any dog that we believe may pose a risk to themselves or to our staff. |
What forms of payment can I pay with? | We currently accept the following payment methods: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
For more details, please visit our Payment Page here. Checks: • Checks are only accepted by well-established clients upon request. • First-time clients may not pay by check. • Checks over $500 must be pre-approved. Please Note: All credit card payments are subject to a 3% processing fee. |
Do I have to bring food with my pet?
| We strongly recommend bringing your pet's own food, as sudden dietary changes can lead to gastrointestinal issues. To simplify feeding times and ensure your pet receives the proper amount of food during their stay, we are implementing a new policy.
New Policy: All clients boarding their pet(s) or using daycare services at Camp KCS must pre-package and label each of their pet’s meals. Click here for instructions If staff need to pre-package your pet’s food, a pre-bagging fee will apply. If you choose not to bring food, we will supply dry food only (Fromm Classic for dogs or Purina for cats). A Pre-bag fee will apply. Any special dietary feedings like wet/can food or if your pet has allergies, you would have to bring that with you. |
What happens if my dogs must be separated for feedings? | An additional fee will apply for supervising or separating your dogs during feedings.
Options for You: • You may need to book two separate kennels. • If supervision or separation is required for feedings, there will be an extra charge of $10.00 per day. |
What if my dog(s) are on medication? | There is no charge for administering basic medication, which includes simple oral medications that can be easily mixed with food or administered by other easy methods. If your pet requires more complex or extensive medication, additional charges will apply. Important: Please ensure your pet has not visited the veterinarian within 10 days prior to boarding. If your pet must see a veterinarian within that period for medical reasons, please provide a doctor's note confirming that your pet does not have any contagious medical conditions or has not been exposed to any contagious issues. |
What items may I bring with my pet? | We welcome most items that will help your pet feel more comfortable, such as toys, blankets, beds, and treats. However, we cannot accept rugs, mattresses, or large blankets that are difficult to wash. We recommend not bringing bowls, as we provide plenty, and they are often misplaced during cleaning. If your pet uses an elevated feeding station, especially for larger dogs, please bring it with you, and we will be happy to use it. |
How often is my dog given the opportunity to relieve himself? | We ensure your dog is walked at least three times a day, providing them with opportunities to relieve themselves and enjoy plenty of one-on-one attention. |
Will my dog have exercise while they are there? | We have a fenced-in backyard for exercise and play, as well as an indoor play area for when the weather isn't ideal. You can schedule additional daycare, play, or exercise sessions to ensure your pet gets the daily activity you want for them. Please refer to our Pricing page for more details on adding daycare to boarding. |
Would I be able to visit my dog while they are there?

Can my dogs board together in the same kennel? | Yes, in most cases, there is no issue. However, dogs may behave differently in a kennel environment. If any signs of aggression between dogs occur, we may need to separate them. Dogs who usually get along at home may experience what’s known as "transfer aggression" when they are agitated by the presence of new dogs. This can sometimes cause them to target the other dog in the same kennel. |
What happens if my dogs have to be separated?
| If your dogs need to be separated during their stay for their safety, we will accommodate that. However, the multiple pet discount will no longer apply, and you will be required to book separate kennels for any future boarding. |
Can my dog & cat board together in the same kennel? | Unfortunately, they cannot board in the same kennel. However, if your cat boards at the same time, you will receive a 20% discount on their boarding fee. |

Is there video viewing available during my pets stay? | Unfortunately, we do not offer video viewing for our kennels. However, we do offer a Facebook picture sign-up.
